The lovely world of social media sometimes throws up amazing ways of helping people, and Instagram’s #dollsforukraine is one of them.

A group of natural fibre doll makers across Germany and England raised a lot of money last year for children in Afghanistan by making and auctioning off a doll each for the cause. I was so moved and inspired by this that when they announced that they would do it again for Ukraine, I decided to take part.

I have now made the doll, and am working on the clothes, shoes and bag. With every stitch, I was with the people of Ukraine, hoping that the war will end very soon.
